Brad Adkins 'Big Red' CD 70 minutes, compact disc (5 oz) $10.00

Brad Adkins is a public figure in Portland whether he likes it or not. Most people know him or at least have a story about a run-in with him. He's a wandering philosopher who engages friends and strangers in conversation. I feel smarter everytime I talk to him and I hope it's not just because I'm leeching valuable knowledge and information from him. This is a recording of him in a series of tangential conversations with another person - telling stories and making observations.

A new kind of jellyfish "big red" was discovered in 1998 long after all sea life was thought to be discovered. He uses this as a metaphor for artistic stifling that all things may yet not be discovered. Another recurring theme and metaphor is the man who invented a magic trick where he looks like he pulls off his finger. He later loses his real fingers in a car accident and needs to improvise with his other hand.

I met him when I was in Portland on the MAX I think. Interesting person. anonymous
I still don't like the Mercury but they wrote about this. Joe
