To mark the 10th anniversary of Critical Resistance's existence as an organization, participants collected their writings on prison issues and released them as a book. Mostly essays, with a few poems thrown in for good measure, the book addresses topics like the relationship between media violence and the racial imbalances in incarceration rates, reform in Canadian prisons, immigrant's rights, and the CR-INCITE Women of Color Against Violence statement of gender violence. I like the wide reach of this book, which keeps it lively and interesting. A lot of different aspects are explored around the central theme of prisons.
