Southern Fried is essential reading for anyone who grew up in the south! This issue is a bit of a departure from Jerry's usual style of storytelling in that he sticks with a couple of longer, more ambitious narratives rather than a handful of choppy little vignettes. Of course, it is still a great read! We are taken back to the beginnings of his relationship with Vicki, who is now his wife; back further to the feud with the family next door, and many places in between. These tales convey a genuine Southern warmth and humor, all the while remaining universal and familiar.
