This cool little zine is written in a clipped, abbreviated style (sample: “we rode silent. Still shaking inspired. Punk blasting from rattled speakers to gut.”), and covers some familiar territory: high school, early college, first punk show, being punk in a small town, going on tour, having crushes and making out. The writing style gives it an urgent, concentrated feel, and reading it is like eating the spice pack without the Ramen, or drinking orange juice concentrate. Yum! Then, in the watery crevices of your brain, these stories rehydrate and bloom, and even a crotchety ol’ coot like me begins to think going on tour in a crappy van sounds like fun. quimby's review
