"Poverty, unemployment, homelessness - if you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!" The only people who could think that poverty is in any way fun are wealthy kids playing at being poor for a few years, the daily reality of poverty, unemployment and homelessness for the average person is very serious and something anarchists should always organise against rather than mock. felipe
This book is just about how 'cool' crimethinc is. Sorry, but eating out of a dumpster and printing ironic cartoons isn't going to 'liberate' anything. Jesse
not a good book. there are much better analyses of this book (and other Crimthinc. books) out there, but generally i found it to be gratuitous and middle class. this book contains lots of slogans and info nuggets; but does not take a thorough look at capitalism or modernity. the artwork is neat but start elsewhere if you're serious about challenging capitalism and american culture beth
This book is very, very, good for people wishing to deprogram them selves, or friends willing to deprogram friends, However it teaches one to reject capatalism by rejecting it in a very basic way. I believe it forgets that there is an ultimate goal of an egalatarian society i.e. if every body was scavenging who would be producing the wealth. Taught me a lot when I was 17 however I am now 23 and want to see social change in my lifetime. Dumpstering wont achieve that. RatBoy
This is crimethink FOR BEGINNERS. So some parts of the book are common sense. Still its a very fun read. I wish i could give this book to myself when i was 17 and first becoming radicalized. GET THIS BOOK! Goose
Perhaps I'm the only one that wasn't very impressed with this book. I found it to be really redundant with assumptions about the world/system that I already share (and so would about anyone who would consider reading this book.) A lot of, "you waste your life watching TV, go out and do something!" Yeah, we know, I heard rants of "kill your television" when I was 13, this isn't anything new. It does go into slighter more detail than that broad slogan, but overall, not something I'd read again. The visuals however were good and it was a generally fast-paced read. I'd recommend this to someone who is really clueless about the concept of revolution, but if you're already into it, I wouldn't bother. Leah
This IS a really good book. Not the BEST, but it sure is up there. If you're ever in a heated debate about why capitalism fucks us over and you get to nervous to think, recite this book. CrimethInc wins again! XXX Brian Nichols
This book makes me so happy when I've read it. I lent it out and never got it back..and sad to say but it isn't traveling, visiting and enlightening people just lying in a room....argh. I think I shall get another! bat
BEST FLIPPIN' BOOK EVER!!!!!!! IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER!!! ALAN
Sheesh!! Can there be a better book? I got a hold of this little cool guy when I was beginning to be intrested in this stuff. Makes you wonder about your actions......good intro book for starters. You'll love it! kristina
If you're into situationist stuff, this is awesome! anonymous
If you have a short attention span like me, this is a good pick. It's divided alphabetically into sections, so you can read about capitalism in one rather quick sitting and sex in another. Really nice visuals. I liked it a lot. Jamie
My friend recently read this and told me it was good. I read it everytime I get the chance to go over to her house. I'm gonna end up getting that probably because it's an interesting book. Much love. bev
