I am so excited you are carrying this book! This is the most life-altering book I have ever read. I re-read it frequently for inspiration,pretty much a bible for me.This book convinced my family to release me from school in 7th grade. Annie
At first my parents threw the book back at me and screamed, but when I made a split decision to run away they called looking for me the next day with more open minds. It looks now like I may actually get "liberated," at least from high school. It's scary to think about sometimes, but I know it will be all for the better. This book is HIGHLY recommended! It's very well researched, informative, and useful. adrienne
Highly recommended, although my parents weren't very receptive of the idea of "unschooling". I tried to get my mom to read it, but she refused and even wanted to burn the book. Maybe you'll have better luck. This books explores the deterring effects of conventional education and suggests a healthy alternative. If you feel confined by the public school system, get this book. I think anyone can genuinely relate. Everyone should read The Teenage Liberation Handbook...especially teachers, parents and students. jackie wang
